Reflection After the Equinox 🌒
Theme: Reflection After the Equinox
Gods/Spirits: Hecate (thresholds), Janus (transitions)
Practice:
Light a dark blue candle and place Obsidian on your altar. Write in your journal: “What wisdom from this past season do I want to carry forward into winter?” After writing, burn a small piece of Mugwort as incense to invite clarity and blessing on your transition.
Divination: Rune – Jera (cycles, harvest, endings/beginnings). Use this rune as a meditation symbol for continuity and seasonal change.
Color: Dark Blue – representing reflection, depth, and the night sky.
Crystal: Obsidian – for shadow work, grounding, and unveiling hidden truths.
Herb: Mugwort – opens the door to dreamwork, vision, and deeper insight.
Ritual (Step-by-Step):
Prepare your space with a dark blue candle, Obsidian, and Mugwort. Hold Obsidian, breathe deeply, and visualize a doorway of transition. Journal on today’s question, letting past experiences and insights surface. Burn Mugwort or hold it near your journal pages, symbolizing purification and guidance. Thank Hecate and Janus for guarding the threshold, and sit quietly in meditation.
Journaling Prompt:
“What wisdom from this past season do I want to carry forward into winter?”
Tarot/Rune Spread (3 Draws):
Card/Rune 1: What gift or lesson do I carry from the light half of the year? Card/Rune 2: What threshold am I standing before now? Card/Rune 3: What guidance will support me in stepping into the dark half of the year?
Unique Element: Before bed, place Obsidian near your pillow with Mugwort under it, inviting guidance through dreams on how to embrace transition.
